PICNIC

Picnic is a new solo dance-theatre work by Gerard Van Dyck

PICNIC uses the great Australian tradition of ‘picnicking’ as an analogy for happiness and addresses themes of isolation, innocence and how the act of being creative is underestimated.

Gerard is both dancer and storyteller in this intelligent, cross-disciplinary and highly accessible work. PICNIC combines whimsical anecdotes with nuanced and athletic choreography to present an absurd mediation on the importance of creativity.
